Keep Golden Isles Beautiful community greening/beautification Special Projects are a great way to make a beautiful difference in our community!
Volunteer groups partner with Keep Golden Isles Beautiful on various community greening efforts, projects and initiatives.

Cleaning historical markers, planting flowers, constructing raised vegetable beds, spreading mulch, building picnic tables/benches and painting are just a few community greening and beautification efforts Keep Golden Isles Beautiful volunteers have participated in to beautify and green our community.

KGIB routinely partners with local organizations to provide community greening volunteer opportunities:

Oak Grove Cemetery Society – provide volunteers for upkeep efforts in the City of Brunswick’s oldest visible cemetery. Activities range from limb/leaf/moss removal, raking, headstone cleaning, weeding, and more.

Garden of Hope – provide volunteers for community garden maintenance efforts including weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting, pruning, etc. Grown fruits/veggies are distributed to the local homeless population.

Roosevelt Harris, Jr., Senior Citizens Center – provide volunteers for flower/plant maintenance efforts including planting, weeding, mulching, planting, etc. Backyard area is for the enjoyment of the Center patrons.
