BRUNSWICK, GA - (November 6, 2024) – In celebration of it’s 45th anniversary, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful kicks off a “$45 for 45” campaign to celebrate, support and continue 45 years of Difference Making in the Golden Isles. Supporters are invited to donate $45 (or more) to celebrate this community betterment anniversary.
Since 1979, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful has been a leader in helping keep the Golden Isles of Georgia clean, green and beautiful. A volunteer and community based educational organization, volunteers contribute 9,000+ hours annually in Keep Golden Isles Beautiful efforts, programs and initiatives.
“Our mission is to preserve and enhance the beauty of Glynn County through community stewardship, and we invite all past and present KGIB volunteers, supporters and community partners to celebrate this milestone by joining in our $45 for 45 campaign to continue these community betterment efforts and help reach our 2024 fundraising goal before year end,” said KGIB chairman Clement Cullens. “All of us working together towards a stronger and more vibrant community are making a difference in our own backyard, and we want to ensure this legacy continues.”
A public/private partnership, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful depends on monetary, in-kind and volunteer support from individuals, businesses, local governments, civic/community organizations and schools to provide litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, community greening, water resource and educational programming and activities to Brunswick and Glynn County citizens. Keep Golden Isles Beautiful is a Keep America Beautiful and Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation affiliate.
Begun as “Brunswick-Glynn County Clean Community Commission” in 1979, the organization was renamed Glynn Clean and Beautiful in 1987, Keep Brunswick-Golden Isles Beautiful in 1997 and finally Keep Golden Isles Beautiful in 2015.
